I’m going to share with you a little story that shifted my entire mindset...
I received an email from Laura Hayledt. Its title was "Dealing with imposter syndrome? Read this" and so I clicked.
She shared about a movie called "Catch Me if You Can" with Leonardo DiCaprio playing Frank Abagnale Jr. who was a so-called doctor, sociology professor, lawyer and co-pilot - all of this at a very young age. I haven't watched it, but maybe with Leonardo in it, I'll try to catch it.
Anyway, the story goes, that..
Frank was also a forger and bank robber - which made him wanted by the FBI. FBI agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) made it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank was always one step ahead of him.
When Frank was finally caught, after years of chasing, the authorities asked: “How in the world did you teach that sociology class for an entire semester in uni?”
His answer was: “All I had to do was read one chapter ahead of the students.”
Let that sink in for a minute…
To be able to be seen as an "expert" and to teach others how to get the desired results they are looking for, you just have to be “one chapter ahead”.
Same goes for the knowledge on essential oils. It’s not because you are still learning, that you cannot be an oil "coach" to someone else.
I was talking to a member who confidently mentioned.. "Okay, so Thieves is for wellness.. R.C and Lemon for stuffy noses.. Anything else?" I'm like, "HELLO. You said you don't know anything about oils. PLEASE GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT. THAT is something! Please share with other mummies who may not even know this!"
I AM STILL learning every single day, just like anyone else, but yet, I'm here... showing up every day, just striving to add value to my followers whenever I can.
It can be the same for you! You DO NOT need to be an aromatherapist to start sharing on YL. I repeat, you DO NOT need to be a certified aromatherapist to do the YL biz.
DO NOT WAIT till you "know-it -all" about essential oils, because here's a truth bomb, we learn new things about essential oils eeeeveryday.
Do NOT underestimate how valuable your knowledge is to someone that is a few chapters behind. It really is that simple.
