Oh stress. It is truly the root of all disease.

Constant threats mean stress hormones (cortisol) levels are always high, immune and digestive systems are suppressed, and you are more likely to experience a myriad of health issues.

Frankincense is one of the most desired essential oils available today and is a must-have for every home! Frankincense has long been known for its incredible grounding and healing properties and carries huge historical and spiritual significance. It is truly a versatile oil and one we reach for when our immune systems are going down, our respiratory systems need a boost, we need to invite in a sense of calm and serenity, or we want to give our skin some TLC!


Frankincense has been used in religious rituals for over 3,000 years. Frankincense was included in the Ebers Papyrus, one of the oldest known medical records dating back to the 16th century BC, and was gifted to Jesus Christ as His birth.
Young Living distills Frankincense oil from the resin of Boswellia carterii trees grown in northern Africa, near the Arabian Peninsula. Sacred Frankincense, from the Boswellia sacra trees, is believed to be the variety of Frankincense give to Christ, and is very similar in profile to Frankincense, Boswellia carterii.


Frankincense is very grounding and can be inhaled to calm the mind and bring a sense of focus and well being. It can be especially helpful for releasing feelings of anger, entanglement, and abandonment. 
In Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils, Dr. Mein says that the alarm point for these emotions is the "ego- point", which is the center of your chest. If a particular relationship is extra hard, the way out of it is to Surrender and Detach, standing in your own power and security. Frankincense can help you get there!
Here's how to use it for releasing stuck emotions related to this:
Rub Frankincense over the center of the chest whenever you feel that deep, angry feeling, or when your chest hurts from emotional struggles.
Say statements like: "I am grounded." or "I stand in my power."
Inhale Frankincense until you feel something shift and that burden in your chest gets lighter!

The composition of Frankincense oil is especially high in “monoterpenes” which are components that help to rewrite information in the DNA of the cells that is harmful to the body (signals inducing stress, fight or flight, cellular issues, cellular memories related to trauma, injury, etc.).
